Changes to Vocational Education Training is on its way.
We will be making sure we are well on top of these changes.
What do we know so far?
The government will merge 16 Polytechnics into a single institute next year and replace all 11 Industry Training Organisations within three years .
A new Institute will be created in April 2020 and it would be known provisionally as the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.
The Institute will take over responsibility for workplace Training and Apprenticeships from Industry Training Organisations over the next two to three years.
Industry Training Organisations (ITO's) would be replaced by four to seven Workforce Development Councils that would be setup by 2022.
